Okay, there were people wondering what happened on Sunday because it rained.
Well…
IT RAINED.
That didn’t mean the parade didn’t go on though! It went on… With really soggy people.
But hey, I got to see Rozen (before it rained and when it was all sunny and humid) before the parade! She’s one of the grand marshals of the parade this year!
Yes, the 501st have special shamrock patches for events like these.
Such a nice day, non? The boaters paddled REALLY quickly away once the rain fell heavily. Choppy waters galore.
The Star Wars Fans contingent. Yes, they’re in armour with the Jedi and Sith in the front… No, their clothes are not waterproofed…
Man, the video footage for the trek in the rain across the bridge and to UOB plaza is awesome. Still being edited though so that will probably be in another update.
Bands, dancers, bagpipers etc, huddled in the small space of the plaza, taking their turns to perform.
St Pat’s school students at the parade, heh wouldn’t be right if they’re not there since their school’s patron saint is it!
People were being merry and enjoying it all even when they were drenched.
As evidenced by the crowd. Anywho, it was all fun and wet… Really wet. Hopefully next year will be a sunnier day! More pictures and a report found here!
Onwards to the Blog Aloud Fanboys event!
Organized by StarWars.sg, the 501st and some of us from SEJA were there to watch the movie! It was a REALLY really sweet and yet funny story. There were lots of references to Star Wars though and cameos that fans would recognize. It’ll open in cinemas here on the 26th and awwwwww, the story is just… You know, if you’re a fanboy or girl and you know you have friends who would go to all that much trouble and adventure for you in a fandom, it’s kinda sweet.
Oh yeah there was a little question and answer session. Um, the above picture was a lightsaber demonstration by SEJA… You definitely can’t see them in the photo except for the flashes of their sabers. The 501st promoted how you could join them plus a little publicity on StarWars.sg too.
And that’s it for the event! Rumour says next movie to have the sci-fi fans out will be the Star Trek movie, heh heh…
nice to meet u sarah. it was a great event (st patrick’s day) despite the rain. but i think we already meet at last year’s EOY right? haha.
