It was yesterday on the 2nd June at the Iluma in Bugis (Singapore, if you’re not local reading this). And oh man was it insane. The invite said 2pm but it launched at 1pm since I think there were too many people and we were all gonna block the mall’s entrance or something if we waited another hour.
I arrived there at 11.30am.
This is the view from the top when people are moving.
The people in front of me.
The people behind me!!! The line tripled if you can’t see properly and it stretched pretty far out.
This sign, yessss first 600 people get the limited edition T-shirt. I GOT IT!
The staff gave this flyer out too. You’ll see what goodies I got in the end. Present this flyer and get a free gift!
And there was this too, discounts for Simmers, hur hur at some cafe thing upstairs in the mall.
So close yet sooo far!
The dratted plumbob hairband that I was singing about here.
People could demo the game too in the meantime at the various demo booths.
“Ooh my!”
“Howdy!”
Cardboard Sims near the stage.
Minor pitstop at Coffee Bean & Tea leaf for this, they had the contests and stuff in the meantime but I had lunch after I got my stuff.
Okay the contests were insane because of the people. This is one of the dress up and explain your Sim fashion thing. The prizes with a Bon Voyage (the expansion pack) red cloth bag, some Sims 2 expansion pack which I couldn’t see properly and a PLUMBOB HAIR BAND.
We voted for the winner by placing these plumbob lanyards on the ones we wanted to win.
This one here was a quiz where you would choose to take or switch your box if you won that round. Everyone gasped when we realized the mug was in the box that was not taken. ALAS.
Also, if you read my twitter, we somehow pushed the MC off the stage. Not on purpose!! He was asking for three people up on stage and seriously EVERYONE wants the prizes and so we all rushed to the stage and someone accidentally pushed him off the other side. Thankfully it’s a VERY short and small stage as you can see.
More insanity when he threw the hairbands into the crowd and it was like a rock concert where everyone jumped up and tried to snatch it away. Throughout the afternoon there were plenty of games and prizes but I couldn’t stick around for them since I had to go. Also, the reason why we all wore the t-shirt is cause if you are spotted wearing it by the Sims 3 ambassador in the area, you’d get a special prize.
🙁 I wasn’t spotted… And I did go hunting them out in the area… So… did other people.
The stuff!! T-shirt, poster, game with plumbob and carabiner, paper plumbob, green house handphone strap, preorder card with car downloads and that’s it besides the flyers.
Now, just close ups for you guys.
Green house handphone strap, a peek of the poster there and the game with the 2gb plumbob thumbdrive and carabiner.
And the Sims3 t-shirt! Yaaay. Overall it was a fun event, the EA/Sims 3/Comics Connection staff were very efficient and good including the MC!
Ps. If you DO have a plumbob hairband that you don’t want, please give it to meee.
Hi Seriously Sarah,
Thanks for documenting the entire launch program for us. It’s seriously wonderful.
Contact me and I’ll give you a plumbob hairband.
Cheers.

Gee, you have such a nice singing voice. And The Little Mermaid song, what’s more. Brings back memories of my daughter watching the video five times a day after school for about three years. Yes, Disney videos were my babysitters while I did the housework. She’s been playing Sims 3 non-stop since she got it — she’s 21 now, btw. I feel ancient.
It is a very addictive gaaame.
