Frozen

I have one more movie pass left that expires in March so that leaves me with one more movie to wait and save it for. I’ve used the other two on Hunger Games: Catching Fire (YES IT IS GOOD) and now Frozen.

Feel free to give me movie passes if you want or invite me to movie premieres since I can’t afford all of them but what I can afford are words. AND AFTER WATCHING TWO TEMPERATURE EXTREMES (Catching Fire and heh, Frozen), both give different feels but… NOT TOO DIFFERENT?

Well, there’s less killing in Frozen since it’s an animated Disney movie, duh.

I was a bit meh meh about Frozen because of the whole “femme faces are sooo hard to animate” etc etc debacle but ok, besides that I will tell you, this story is NOT Snow Queen at all.

The plot is basically, pretend that I am the princess with the snow powers with a sister. What would I do? Heck yes, I would do all that and sing while at it. Because I can be an idiot too about it.

GUYS. THE TRAILER IS SO STUPID. IT LIES.

IT IS ACTUALLY A REALLY AWESOME MOVIE.

One I would not recommend watching in 3d because it’s so hard when your tears start to pond in the glasses. Yeah, that’s for the beginning of the movie. And maybe the end too. And perhaps the middle…

I think I’m not going to watch 3d movies until they start making drainage systems in 3d glasses.

I watched it in 2d so it was all cool.

SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW! YOU DON’T WANT SPOILERS, GO READ SOME MOVIE CRITIQUE MAG/SITE.

I was expecting just a FEW songs but no. THIS IS IDINA MENZEL, KRISTEN BELL and heck a whole lot of cast who can actually sing.

That was my face. My face looking like D: because Anna was starting to sing about Love is an Open Door (search that song on youtube) because of the lyrics. It was so bouncy and happy and FUN and my face was pretty much like Elsa’s face BECAUSE ANNA JUST SAID YES TO A GUY SHE JUST MET ON THE FIRST DAY.

“Hey can I just say something crazy?” asked Anna.

“I love crazy!” said Prince Hans.

And they launched into the song and my face was stuck like that until the end of the song. The chord progression and everything is SO AWESOME and I want to sing that with someone even if the lyrics are silly.

Actually, I want to sing it because the lyrics are silly.

Anyway, like the trailers, you know Elsa is the one with snow powers. I was staring at her gloves when you get the first part of her movie, yes she has gloves.

And I had similar gloves too.

It’s her coronation outfit! You can pretend I have the dress and everything when in reality, I only had a black top and that glove there.

Once she runs away to make her own ice castle, Elsa sings this song Let it Go and you’re all “Woaaah” because you finally see her happy in her own natural form.

Finally, she can CHILL!

Hah.

And she looks super cool (HAH!!) when she transforms her coronation dress into this ice outfit and shoes.

Giiiiirrrl, you made ice heels to wear but ok, “The cold never bothered me anyway”.

I would like to tell you all, if I ever had ice powers and had been suppressing them for ages to protect people and suddenly I ran away and made my own ice castle, it would look like this.

Yes, it will look like THAT because even if I had ice powers, I have no sense of architecture. Have you seen my Lego houses? It’s because they’re uniform I could actually make a box with holes for the windows and doors.

Ice is organic, it would be all wonky and the first reaction for anyone to visit me in my ice castle would not be “Wow!” but “Whaaaaat…?” and “Uh… is that the door?”.

Anyway Elsa is awesome. Anna is awesome. All of them have depth! You’re gonna hate some people in the story and you’re gonna go “NO! NOO YOU BIYAAATCH” too.

So yes. Awesome songs, not Snow Queen and cool story. This is not just for the theatres, this is the movie that you’d buy the DVD so you can make reaction .gifs and get the OST because they didn’t pull any stops on it since they knew the cast could SING.
