I got invited to Twitter Singapore’s new office.
Yes.
Because I am… a power user as they say, in their words.
Or is it because I spam a lot or sometimes make things viral, I don’t know.
It was a little disconcerting when I said who I was on twitter and the staff there were all !!! at the door.
Anyway, wooo. This is one of their pantries or at least the one near reception. It’s so fancy.
They have hashtags on their things.
And when I tweeted this picture. Everyone.
Everyone wanted me to steal or demand for one of it.
The main opening hadn’t started yet so I got to chill with a can of Coke and ooh ok, there were massages there (I didn’t go for it) and while waiting I was twittering away.
Because.
I mean, really.
HAAAALP I am legit using twitter in twitterhq because I don’t know how to talk.

WHAT ELSE WAS I TO DO.
I did a second hand tour for my friends and followers reading what the heck I was doing there.
It’s a nice place really and I got a tour around too.
A rangoli because this is the Asia Pacific office for Twitter so they had it all ‘localized’.
And soon we got to listen to the heads for this office.
Fun facts I learned about twitter in Singapore:
– A lot of retweeted things aren’t by celebs, apparently it’s by ‘normal’ or common people.
– We really like to retweet or talk about ‘home’ things like SMRT fail and such like that.
– Most retweeted tweet in 2014 was about hugs. Which is so AWWWWWWWW.
Anyway this was there too, a vending machine of twitter loot!
Nooooooooooooo. WHYyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Noooooooooooooooo.
I ate nice kacang (peanut butter) ice cream by Ben & Jerry’s instead in sadness. Ok, not sadness but I really liked it.
As I ate my ice cream, I met the guy in charge of doing verification on Twitter in other words, BLUE TICKS GUY.
So interesting, and no.
I won’t have a blue tick or demand one because why would I need a verified me (????).
Oh yes! Band of Doodlers was there too.
This is their finished piece at the end of the night.
In lieu of a tour around Twitter SG, we had a little #tweethunt and so we formed up into a team and I met some lovely ladies and our ‘guide’ was from Twitter, of course.
We went about and wow, ok, the offices are quite big!
It sort of also let us learn about their products like promoted tweets, promoted accounts and videos on twitter.
I learned a bit more on Periscope too but hmmm, not sure if my data can take it if I really used it.
Maybe if future places with wifi, I’ll use Periscope to do a streaming.
A thinking helmet before you tweet?
We finished the tour and 53A band was performing a set.
Basically, Twitter SG’s offices are cool and befitting definitely a place for them, pantries, game room and office spaces and meeting rooms?
All the best for them in their new location.
I didn’t steal or get a cup but hey Twitter, if you’re reading this.
I WILL SO COME TO YOUR OFFICE OR WHATEVER, just to get that blue cup because of my twitter friends and to just show “THIS IS A TWITTER CUP, deal with it”.
Really.
Just tweet to me or something.
I did get a swag bag and I got a notebook, keychain and earphones! Along with other promo materials.
I’m not an advertising partner but the calendar’s pretty useful and heck, at least I do know more about their stuuuuuuff.
Now, if I figure out how to upload videos on twitter from my phone…
At least I know how to upload gifs for now, heh heh.
