We’re helping to wake the Dragon up in 2013. You can know more about it on their wordpress here or their Facebook. Once there were at least 20 Dragon Kilns in Singapore, now there are two. And this one will be gone so we’re going to wake the Dragon up before it leaves us forever…
At the moment there are still workshops for YOU (no experience needed) to contribute to this project since they want at least 3000 pieces to fill the dragon and to fire it up. You can even have a private session, as long as you contact them with a small group of friends or people interested to do it with you.
AND THUS, The Adventure Crew managed to get into the slot at the National Museum of Singapore on Saturday afternoon. It’s $15 per person or $25 for adult with child, just check which workshop you want to attend since it might have different prices for different locations if they have drinks provided etc etc.
We got to host the Thank Goodness It’s Over party at the central library’s multipurpose room. It was to start at 6.45pm but people were early as always.
Perfume’s Singapore concert was held on 24 November at *Scape. The night before, there was Sigur Ros and SMTown, I didn’t go for either, only this. And wow, it’s the most orderly concert type queue I’ve been in. It’s all SO orderly. You can know which batch you are in with the number on your ticket.
The installation art truck! There were three figures of Perfume and there were HOLOGRAMS. Kinda like how the Perfume’s global website is.
We were given this by the fanclub! Instructions. It was all so cool.
International Perfume fans!
Them welcoming Perfume to Singapore. Also, there were Japanese film crews around. Apparently it was live streamed to Japan to some cinemas there I wonder how the stream looked like.
No footage or pictures during the performance. Everyone said “Hai” when there were announcements saying no photography, footage or smoking etc in the concert hall. FYI, it’s called the warehouse at Scape. This was everyone after it.
The concert was like a two hour dance party! And it was quite a small venue which meant you WERE quite close to the trio too. Those who were in the VIP queue were super close like woah.
We hope Perfume will come again and that their concert will be held in a bigger place. This was like really, just THREE OF THEM performing all the way, with lesser visual effects compared to other bigger venues. They danced and they talked to us and… There was a surprise special guest too…
DORAEMON
Yes. Of all surprise guests, I would have never guessed Doraemon was there. And yes, he appeared to us by using his magical door! Hahahaha. He said he was there because Perfume was going to perform the THEME SONG of his new movie next year! I mean I like Doraemon a lot and then Perfume and then now A COMBO OF THEM?
Doraemon said good bye to us before Perfume performed the song because he had to get back to Japan to make sure Nobita did his homework. So we ALL said good bye to him. Then Perfume performed their song and we followed the hand movements for it. YES. And well, you have to wait till next year for the movie. Doraemon movies re always inspiring and about friendship and FIGHT ON!
So wow. Ok, Perfume is as good as all their Lives or MTVs.
The Ayam Curtain book launch was held on 16th November at Books Actually. There was a launch at the Singapore Writers Festival but this is the main one!
Set the scene! Emily Hill, on a Saturday afternoon. After climbing up the steps from Little India MRT station (the escalator broke down) and then going up some more steps to get to the house on the hill, we arrived at the Threadless party! Before that, we were at the Nanowrimo write-in at Republic Plaza. Next week’s write-in will be at Rochester Park’s Starbucks.
On account of Singapore Writer’s Festival, Nanowrimo Write-Ins and a chance meeting with a ukulele shop owner, I give you this video of Dawn getting rubbed.
The Nanowrimo kick-off for Singapore was wonderful. With 66 people sigining in, NOT including their parents/children or friends who came with them, they filled up the programme zone of the Bishan Library.
Everything is happening on the 27th of October this year.
Don’t forget that our Nanowrimo kick-off party is at Bishan library, programme zone, level 2. The party starts at 4pm! Nanowrimoer-s sign in the book to get your nanowrimo sticker. Our party theme is DIY! If you want to bring crackers/snacks to share, feel free to do so! Best if Halal so everyone can eat it too.
Our unofficial dress code is: Wear whatever is decent to the library that you want to wear and have no occasion to, so this is the best time to wear whatever you want or show your fandom through your attire.
