Another Time…

Remember 48 Hour Film Project? Tiramisue has finally uploaded the director’s cut on youtube! You can watch our film here.

Fun fact! It was a collaboration between Singapore and our other team in Vancouver!

The requirements for 2011’s Singapore 48 film project was:

Character: Jason / Jamie Chen
Prop: Apple
Line of Dialogue: “Time will tell.”

The genre that our team got was “Time Travel” which was a wild card and we won for Best Use of Character! That and a set of Crocs shoes for each of the crew cause they were one of the sponsors for this year! In fact, if you got to see all the films this year, a lot of them were very good and some were even done by people from productions companies?!.

Not sure how 2012 will be like but at this rate, the films are turning out more like a typical film fest but done in a less amount of time and even with the requirements needed!

Oh with less angst of course. 48h has always had more comedic short films and it’s pretty fun.

Heading to the Room of Requirement

Those gearing up for the Harry Potter Party at the multipurpose room of the National Library on 9 July, 6.30pm can check out Popcorn for movie memorabilia and props! You’ll get a 20% discount from 1 July – 26 July for Harry Potter items there. Hurray for them giving us a discount for the upcoming movie!

Just flash the coupon above on your mobile devices or a printed slip to them when buying your Harry Potter merchandise there.

In related news, no discounts for Caesar’s but they’re selling lighted wands there. Apparently they typoed Voldemort to Valdermort in their flyer… BUT ANYWHO, yeah if you want to LUMOS, the wands are pretty good since I tried them out when their stall was at Cosfest.

NOW! More details of the HP Party.

  • We’re expecting a LOT of people since response is like WOAH. So to be sure, remember this is a LIBRARY and we need to keep the noise down so be “quiet” like you’re sneaking to the room of requirement when you’re just entering the place.
  • Also due to the woaah response, if the librarian says no more people allowed in, then no more people allowed in. However, let’s try to all get seated inside eh?
  • It’s a fan event by fans! To make it enjoyable, hope you guys will participate or it will be sad.

Yeah, that’s it! Just remember NLB let us have the place so we’ll have to go according to their rules ok?

Hogwarts robe and wand tutorial

Ok, this is the completed look. Picture is by Magical Harkow from her post here. Since the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 is coming up, this tutorial is how to make a robe and a wand.

Some people have asked how to make the robes or a Harry Potter costume since we’d have the Harry Potter finale party at the multipurpose room of the National Library on 9 July, 6.30pm- 8.30pm.

So here it is.

Let’s start with the wand first since it’s easiest and the robe tutorial will be below it.

The Ultimate MegaZip Adventure Park Hijinks

This is the ultimate MegaZip Adventure post since if you’ve remembered, I went there before it was officially opened and then just a bit after when it was open but still with troubleshooting (since you couldn’t see in that post back then, they were still fixing up the place), NOW it is finally completed and smooth sailing! For one thing, there are SIGNS! HUZZAH! No more searching for the weird looking lion or wondering if you got to a wrong turn. If you’re taking the tram or express train from Vivocity, drop at Imbiah station!

Ok, before I get to the main bulk of the post including VERY interesting details about the park and pricing, you can check my video out above to see what happens in my summary video! If you don’t want to read the details, just watch the video and skip to bottom with the red text to check the pricing! This time I got invited to check it out by 24Seven and since a LOT of people do ask me about the MegaZip, I said yes.

This is going to be the Ultimate post on it.

Beware of Tall Grass

There was a hike proposed of @Hai_Ren on twitter to check out The Green Corridor which is pretty much a railroad track of sorts for the weekend and I signed up along with 2 of the crew. The cast of this episode includes @Hai_Ren as the group organizer, @deafknee, @wilfredphua, @irukafishy, Raven Silvers and Avariel. The weather was sunny as we went off in the morning!

Apparently the Nature Society of Singapore was going on a hike too but they would be from another side of the tracks, heh.

Download for free!

Yes. You guys probably like to download stuff for free. This time it’s for CHARITY. Ho ho ho. This is for Total Defense Day! Yeah, it passed but their charity drive is still going on until 31 March so you still have time to click. This is a “Click for Charity” with the theme “Home – Keeping It Together”.

OK. COPY PASTA times on how it works.

How “Click For Charity” Works

  • 39 local artistes have come together and lent their voices to a new arrangement of the well-loved NDP song “Home” (which was first written by Dick Lee and sung by Kit Chan in 1998). The group of artistes spans five decades, from 60s to 70s icons Vernon Cornelius and Ramli Sarip to present-day songbirds like Stefanie Sun and JJ Lin.
  • For each person who downloads the “Home” music video from the campaign website www.thisishome.sg, Nexus’ partner organisations will donate $1 to the Community Chest (ComChest)!
  • Each person can download the music video as many times as they wish.
  • The “Home” music video is available for download now and the “Click For Charity drive closes on 31 Mar.

And they, the organizers  hope to raise $300,000 for two ComChest causes (“Dignifying the Lives of the Elderly” & “Keeping Families Together”) through this effort.

So yeah, just go to their link and download the song or rather music video. You can choose low or high res versions. It is that song. The one that goes “This is home truly, as my senses tell me…” etc etc.

MEANWHILE, on a related note! HELP VOTE MY FRIEND’S VIDEO with said THEME HOME!

You can watch it here. It’s easy cause you don’t need to freaking And that’s it. Oh yeah, for those that have been wondering the chords for Home, it’s C, Em, F, Em, F, Em, Dm, G… repeat bla bla. For me I prefer the original one so yeah, hence the chords. So go forth and click and downloaaad for charity.
