Okay part 2, the unstitching! I had no idea what was going to happen. I mean, sure, I knew that they were going to take the stitches out but I had no idea how they were going to do it. Like, what tools or whatever will they use to take it out?

The Tooth Fairy Maths
And so, last Friday I got my wisdom teeth removed and this coming Friday, I’ll get the stitches – unstitched!
Alright, this is going to be wordy and descriptive since obviously I can’t take that many photos while I’m unconscious and all! Also, I know there’s people googling “wisdom tooth removal in Singapore” and getting a few posts on the experience itself. Of course, there’s lots out there about the procedure and medical stuff anyway.
First, I’ll give you a bit of back story on how I got to Changi General Hospital or rather what the prices are like. Firstly, I got referred at a polyclinic. My ear was blocking up somehow cause of the headaches and stuff of the wisdom tooth ache and thus, I got ear drops for it but the main point of the visit at a POLYCLINIC was to get a referred consultation for my wisdom tooth! Time check: My polyclinic visit was in very late November, around the last week or so.
See, if you get referred, you get it at a lower price, just that you have to wait! My FIRST consultation was around 1-2 weeks after the polyclinic visit. That’s just consultation you see in which I ended up going to Changi General Hospital (we preferred there cause it was closer to my home and I like the service) to the dental clinic and got X-rayed.
Hatpy Party!
I got invited to the Year End Blogger Hat-py Party by 24seven!
The dress code was to have a crazy hat! I actually had a bunch of hats at home but I wanted to wear one that I hadn’t premiered in public yet. Thus, I figured which particular hat I wanted to wear at the Singapore Art Museum for the party.
A Christmas Special
This is for you guys. Yes. Lyrics by me, music by Serry.
In which we shot a lot.
The Singapore Discovery Centre! I went with some other bloggers and some of the Nanowrimo crew on last Saturday there. It was actually easy to get to the place since all we had to do was drop at the last stop of the western side of the green line aka Joo Koon. I always wanted to see what was at Joo Koon and now I know. Anyway, it was just a five or so minutes walk from the station to get there.
Here’s a teaser/trailer for this post. Heh.
So on we went!
Minor interlude of things
Firstly, yeah. I have no idea what is going with this. It’s a Thomas the tank engine transformer. Secondly, they typoed Thomas to Tomas. Just wanted to post that up because it’s just so weird.
ANYWAY! A minor interlude. I’ve been posting events because they’re faster than my book reviews! I got a stack load of books from the Singapore Writers Festival the other month and yes… It’s quite a lot. I’ll post them book by book in December. That’s after Nanowrimo anyway.
The stack of books include:
- Howl
- Biophilia Omnibus
- Proper Care of Foxes
- Rochee the friendly roach
- Morris Takes a Chance
And uh, whatever books I forgot to list down but is in my stack to go through. So there! Also I’ll be premiering a new series called Tower. It’ll be pretty much a weekly online webcomic without the comic. I can’t draw that well but I can write! Heh, more info on that once I get the prologue and stuff up. What I can say is that, it’ll be a pretty fun online series…
Kitty Lab in Singapore!
Kitty Lab is in Singapore from the 14th till 29th November at the Singapore Expo, Hall 1! Of course I had to go there because it is Hello Kitty! Also, I went there on a Tuesday evening because the ticket prices are cheaper on weekdays, except on Friday. Since it was a rainy evening, it was pretty creepy and quiet as I made my way through the Expo from the MRT station. Hall 1 is way over at the other side of the convention halls so it’s quite a long walk to it.
Into Narnia… Or Adventures with Sarah
Note: Hey, if you don’t want to be surprised or fascinated on your own, do NOT click to read more. These exhibitions will last till the 27th December 2009 at SAM 8Q. Go to it without clicking below if you’re the sort that would appreciate FUN exhibitions where you can interact with stuff! If you click more, then you’ll know what’s there (duh) without going through it yourself. It’ll still be fun to go to but you won’t be surprised.
This is the post where you can click the pictures to see a larger version because the details are SO needed to be seen! Have you been to the Singapore Art Museum at 8Q lately? There’s one exhibition that will last until the 27th December that you need to go to if you like going to arty places or pretty much fun things. It features the President’s Young Talents 2009.
I went there on a Saturday for Fleatique, some flea market thing, waiting for one stall to open and it didn’t. At least from what I saw, the table was still unoccupied by the time I left there at around seven with my friends from the Nanowrimo write-in. Anyone who joins me for a walk around tends to land themselves in adventure. See the tank behind there? Well, some SAM ladies (volunteers, I think?) handed us some pamphlets of the programme for the next few months and told us that we could actually control the WATER on the fourth floor.
And so we did.
Of Writing Workshops, Foxes and Games!
First up, guys, free workshops from 29th till 31st October regarding various types of writing for cinema, fiction and non-fiction. Check it out by downloading the pdf here (right click and save) ! It’s all totally free during this Singapore Writers Fest. Organized by NBDCS, Jacaranda and co-organized by National Arts Council, The Arts House and a part of SWF. Go spread it to your friends who’re interested in writing and all that.
And now, on towards foxes.
Alright, day 2 on 25th Oct of the Singapore Writers Festival. 11 am at the Earshot Cafe and there was quite a number of people. Suddenly it occurred to me… WHERE DO THESE PEOPLE COME FROM? I didn’t realize we had much love for books here which is pretty much a YAY! Oh yes, Raven Silvers and I came to support Wena for The Proper Care of Foxes, plus Raven wanted her poster of SWF signed and I wanted to get what books I wanted before next week. (I don’t wanna lug more books for next Saturday when I’ve got my own thing on.)
A night of ironies
Note: Later part of this post has some spoilers involved.
I rushed from work to Cineleisure so I could pick up my ticket and have a bit of a dinner before it would start.
The Yasmin Ahmad tribute with the gala premiere in Singapore for Talentime was featuring that day, on 15 October at 7pm. I managed to get a seat online the day booking was opened and even by then, the seats were selling out so yaaay, I was quick enough to snatch one up!
