Your universe

Yess, another post in the Nanowrimo series. This time it’s your universe, or rather, I’m writing about the universe my characters are in. You’ve got to know where on Earth (or non-Earth) your characters are to let them play around, you see.

Or else… well, it’s just characters and your story won’t have those little details that makes it real for the characters themselves to live in.

So let us build a universe.

Into the research

This year I’m gonna document how I can do 1667 words a day for November. Well, for Nanowrimo, that is. Sure, I can probably write more a day and finish it before the deadline but it’s just fun that way, you know. Plus, I like seeing a gradual incline on the graph on my account there.

If you’re not even Nanowrimo-ing, this will still probably be educational if you ever want to figure out how to write at least a novel of your own. Sure, there’s probably tons of websites out there saying the same thing but heeey, whatever. I just like writing these stuff up anyway to note it down. Thus, this will also be a progress post of sorts.

Alright, this year I want to write about superheroes.

Or to be exact, I want to write about the person who makes the super hero outfits.

Story Saloon!

storysaloon

Bang, bang! Or close enough. It’s not a saloon where you lounge through, clinking the spurs of your boots as you sit down by the bar while eyeing the fastest gunmen around. It’s the Story Saloon organized by the Arts House, in partnership by The Book Council, venue supporter by Timbre and is totally a programme of the Singapore international storytelling fest!

What a mouthful but I figured to type it out since I cropped out the actual web poster with their logos.

WHEN is it?

Every first Tuesday at Timbre at The Arts House, 9pm!

Also, it’s FREE.

As usual, click to read the rest of the details if interested!

How to make Harley Quinn’s Pop Gun

I was searching online for instructions on these but I couldn’t find any that was relatively easy to do or was not an actual working popgun. Thus, I decided to do a tutorial here since some others asked me how to do this. If you’re interested in making cosplay props, read on.

gunraw

How I blog…

Just in case anyone’s curious on how I blog, I decide to detail my process on it!

Firstly, as you might see this is foremost a literary blog… but apparently it has my adventures on it. GUESS WHY!

That’s cause in between writing stories and such, well it’s good material, non? I can describe things like how one jumps off a building and swings along on a piece of rope or whatever. These events and adventures are pretty cool and it’s good to know how they work. Like research before you write!

Plus, it’s freaking cool to do things that your characters might do.

Secondly, others might want to know it too! So that’s why I blog. I blog for those who can’t do it because they’re not here or they can’t because they’re unable to for some reason. Or heck mostly for those who want to know.

I like to write events on how it is so that my friends and those who wanted to be there can read it like they’re there or at least generally know what happened.

Okay, now the process on how I do it!

Megazip at Sentosa!

Note: UPDATED blog post as of 2011 here.

Blog post trailer video:

This is gonna be very wordy by the way.

On the 8th August 2009, Lysistarielle and I went to the Megazip at Sentosa because we went insane to know that it was open via online booking. Mind you, this is before the official opening so this review will probably be different from the experience of people who went after it. It’s probably just going to be different with the signs anyway.

Singapore Toy, Games & Comics Convention 2009

I don’t know how to start this so I’ll say that it was awesome!

Photobucket

Wooo, wooo okay. So on the first day (for me), on Friday I went to the conference sessions first. Bla de dah. It was pretty cool! The stuff were informative and fun. Also, I got a conference goodie bag. The speakers were all very interactive too and you got to learn more about their various productions or products.
