It starts from a Spark
I was invited to the sneak preview of episode 6 of the DBS Sparks series.
Episode 6 will officially premiere on the 17th March, noon on their channel.
I watched it and it is quite touching, as it has to do with education and the cultural sensitivities in villages where girls aren’t able to study. I can’t say more without spoiling so perhaps you can just watch it yourself!
The whole series is actually based on real life events that the bankers actually go through.
You might think it’s fictional, but it’s not! Episode 6 is especially influenced by one of the Social Media Enterprises that they have supported, like Zaya.

I Bought Singlit
I groaned as I trudged towards the Gillman Barracks in the morning. I didn’t have to but I wanted to help Jo and Max since I could come by and also pass them a cupcake or so.
Block 7 was where the #buysinglit event was happening from 24th to 26th February 2017.
For anyone who had been to Gillman Barracks, most of their reactions was, “Ughh ok fine, I’ll just go there once and never again” because it was just such an ulu place.
I removed my sunglasses as I stepped into the building, the walls were decorated with pages but I didn’t go up close to them to read.
Odex Film Fest!
It ends on the 26th which is this weekend. Mostly, it’s a Golden Village thing but there’s an event at City Square Mall where if you get free Odex Film Fest Goodie Bag with a minimum spending of $50 in a single receipt (or $100 if NTUC receipt) at the L2 Customer Service Counter.
But from what I saw, people were redeeming their goodie bags instead at the Atrium so do looksee where to go.
There’s this one station for you to check out Sword Art Online on the ps4 but I’m sure it’ll be crowded during the weekend.

You know, I actually had a facebook reminder that I was posing with Chopper, 4 years ago at J-Obsession at the Cathay. I wonder if this is the same Chopper.

It’s not too big and the tournaments and games will be happening around it. So try to come early and get a good spot cause it’s not that large of an area.

Unchained in Changi!!
It was empty on the roads on evening of the 27th of January since a lot of people were at home or somewhere having their reunion dinners.
Meanwhile, I was watching a Singapore Pro Wrestling event: UNCHAINED IN CHANGI!!
Don’t be scared if you ever get an invite to go to one, the audience are civilized.

The Christmas Coup!
It is the Winter Solstice, and naughty elves have spirited Santa Claus away. Without him to spread the Christmas cheer, winter will never end, and spring will never come. The clock is ticking. Can you find him before the day is over, or will the world be locked in darkness forever?
It’s an escape game run by The Guild in conjunction with *SCAPE’s Naughty Or Nice fair from 9-11 December.
In these three days, the sessions for the game runs at 12pm, 3pm and 6pm.

Comics and Art!
A Saturday of comics and art as I hit up GnB’s for Halloween Free Comics and Illustration Arts Fest at La Salle.
A first for both of them!
It was the first Halloween at GnB’s new location at Kitchener Complex ever since they had to move due to Rochor Centre getting demolished.
The Game had Started
GameStart 2016 was at Suntec and well, at least from my own knowledge, no hijinks occurred involving any random aunties this year at this location.
Also, you probably could called GameStart as Overwatch Convention since yessssss. OW EVERYWHERE.
Because I’m biased, here’s a solo shot (hah!) of Ana.
Ok, OW everywhere and Mystic Messenger too but I don’t play MM.
Let’s go Pokemon!
The morning of when pokemon was released in Singapore, I actually dreamed of it and went “Huh, I dreamt that Pokego go released secretly in one morning” but I had a feeling it was that day.
And then… it really was.
Which is a nice coincidence. Anyway! It’s amusing to see that many people are coming out in twos, threes or in little groups as they walk about together.
There’s so many posts about it but eh, here’s my tips for you to pokego in Singapore.
- Free wifi in malls, banks, Starbucks, McD’s etc. You don’t have to use your data if you’re gonna sit in a mall. Just log on.
- NTUC and malls (well, hospitals too but if you’re there then uh, please take care of your health or the person you’re visiting instead) have free charging points. You can charge your phone but you have to leave it in the little ‘charging corner thing’ OR charge your powerbank. MRTs have free charging stations too for your devices. Don’t be a douchecanoe, don’t hog the charging points if there aren’t many. People might need to charge their phones to contact people in emergency.
- Stop standing in the middle of nowhere. Switch off AR to catch the pokemon since it’ll stop it from ‘moving’ about and easier for your to throw them pokeballs. Do this discreetly like you’re whatsapping. You can walk and swipe it up. If you want to park, park yourself near walls and away from people to prevent yourself from bumping into them.
- Bring water if you’re going to walk a long while. If you want to hatch a poke-egg with 2km or 5km. Maybe you should check out the running routes available in SG so you can have nice scenery too. The usual races in SG are 5km for basics too so WOOH, you can even join a run or something.
- Look where you are going. Like oh mein Gott. LOOK WHERE YOU ARE GOING. Don’t be a noob.
- Help out younger players or like, look after them that they aren’t going where they’re not supposed to be. Do the neighbourhood pal thing and whatnot, they’re excited pokemon trainers too.
- Â Check out offers!! Malls, cafes, restaurants are now providing discounts for poketrainers or you can win vouchers and stuff. Just look about, sometimes they will have some soooo why not make the best of it? Heh.
