USBs, jewelry and the Blogger’s Lounge aka 247 Lounge

sushi

They’re selling these food USB at the school bookshop where I am at. Verily amused. There’s mini hamburgers, tarts and other food items too. AM tempted to get the sushi ones. Hmmm. They’re $29.90 and at 2GBs. I know it’s expensive for the size but it’s more for the shape of it.

jewellist

Meanwhile, had a little class on jewelry manufacturing at JDMIS on Wednesday night. Never have I wanted more jewelry than then. I learnt how people made jewelry and oh man… If you want someone to give you a really expensive wedding ring of sorts. Ask for a good quality pave (I don’t have the special e with the stroke on top on this keyboard) since that would mean the ring would have to be hand made just for youuuu. Anyway hand manufactured jewelry = very very time consuming.

bloglounge

Onwards to the Blogger’s Lounge. It’s been renamed to 247 Lounge at the moment of this post though. You pronounce it as twenty-four, seven lounge. Heh. Not two four seven. It’s hosted by the 24 Seven people. Check their webby to know more about them or their blog.

48h logo

For those who don’t know about the 48 Hour Film Project, it’s a competition that is held all over the world and that you have to complete a short film of 4 to 7 minutes (excluding credits) within 48 hours. This is the second year Singapore is having it.

Oh and you have to put in the 3 required items that is needed in the story and you don’t know what genre you’ll get until the day itself. What are the 3 items needed?

Prop: Scissors

Character: Amy/Andy Yeo, a journalist

Dialogue: Is it supposed to look like that?

And as for my team, we got a mockumentary. How amusing, yes?

Meanwhile, my brothers also joined the competition. I’ve taken a look at their entry and… I seriously want to see the faces of the audience when it is being screened. The competitors were required to be at TISCH Asia at least by 7pm, Friday, 1st May 2009.

And a really work in progress preview trailer since people have been curious what we had been doing. Sheesh, people! Be patient! We didn’t even get the time to have the special effects composited and all yet! Effects will be overseen by 4Dpencil and yes, I know you’re probably going what the heck at the techno music. That’s not the real music for the final piece.

Silver ring with gemstone setting class at JDMIS!

silvjdmis

Yes! I went to the Jewelry Design & Management International School on Saturday, 10am for their course on making rings. What I have to say is that it is ridiculous that there are very few reviews about this school online. At least I can’t find much reviews on it especially when after experiencing it myself and that it’s absolutely good?!? I suppose the people attending the classes aren’t really major bloggers anywho.

Well onwards with the module!

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (now in Singapore!)

PPZsg

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is available in Singapore! Yay! It released on 1st April in the US and I had been looking out if there were any yet here. Kinokuniya had it few days later and on the 4th, I GOT MY COPY! I was informed of it via twitter that it was spotted near the cashier and new books! Hurray! At the moment of this post, I don’t know if Borders has stocked them up yet.

And yes, I actually went to get a picture of it with the Merlion in the background just to show it’s here, cause hey, it is a landmark!
