SDS 2.13 – Angel of Music
No. We didn’t go out for a green tea adventure. This time, we were off to *SCAPE for some karaoke. On our way there though, we got ourselves some free green tea. Yay for free stuff in town! Yes! Karaoke!
Newsflash: City Hall and former Supreme Court tours open!
NEWSFLASH!
More there’s more slots for guided tours for the old supreme court (or former supreme court as some might say!) and city hall! Yeah, I know some of you might wonder why is city hall called city hall… Well, the building next to the supreme court is the ACTUAL city hall, thus that’s why the area is called, uh that.
Here’s the info!
16-17th Oct of Guided Tours for the TNAGS Open House.
If you didn’t get to sign up for the previous one. DO IT NOW. Sign up online at HERE! Ok that’s the main site for you to check EVERYTHING. However, if you check what’s happening etc etc. You’ll end up at the guided tours booking form!
I know my random encounter post whet the appetites of some adventurers and historians that read it since it was a post to know how the area was like and for those who couldn’t. It was a “Lookie here” archival post instead of my usual go do it since I knew there was limited space. HOWEVER, now you can check it out yourself. SO, go forth and sign up!
SDS 2.12 – I Love Rock and Roll
Around noon… At a secluded mysterious hill that I called “The Mysterious Hill of Secludedness” in which we had to walk up hills, past old rail tracks and fields. Let’s see what we’re going to do at said hill…
The Dusts of Time are Dusty
On the 8th September of 2010 I was invited to a preview tour of the old supreme court (some might call it the former supreme court but it’s the same place). OH HECK YEAAAAAAAAH! A warning to those reading this post via google readers or whatever since I don’t think you’ll see a “more” cut. THIS post is going to be EXTREMELY long!
The short details: The old supreme court is going to be converted into the National Art Gallery in the future! There’s going to be an open house on the 8th and 9th October. However, tour slots are full at the moment. IN ANY CASE. LET’S GET ON WITH THE SHOW!
If you expect “serious” textbook history stuff for this post, go find other blogs or something. I will disappoint you because this is freaking exciting! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!
SDS 2.11 – Blowing in the Wind
There comes a time when one can just show pics to tell you what happened. This is such a time! It shouldn’t be hard for you to figure out what happened too!
Hari Raya Bazaar 2010 at Geylang Serai
And so since it’s Ramadhan, I decided to have a looksee at Geylang Serai before Hari Raya or to some of you, Eid Mubarak. Diff languages, same thing. Anywho, here we go!
SDS 2.9 – Game On!
One of the things in the list of things to do in the SDS list was to go to a board game cafe. It’s pretty much everywhere or at least, they’re at accessible parts in town and in some malls. You can choose from De Coder’s Cafe, Pitstop Cafe, Settlers Cafe or The Mind Cafe. I don’t know if there’s any more but those are popular.
We settled for The Mind Cafe at Boat Quay since Jo wanted to play Adversity. As you can see, we were actually early since the place opened at noon. Nonetheless, other people were waiting too, heh.
It’s GAME TIME!
SDS 2.8 – Staying Alive!
The usual crew hit the Alive Gallery at Downtown East! This gallery exhibition of sorts ends on 3rd October so you still have time to go if you want to from when I post this episode.
SDS 2.7 – Sew My Name
Considering this episode is supposed to be a laid back activity of craft work, we stumbled upon some science for kids exhibition at the National Library. Yeah, we’re doing craftwork and got hit by science.
