Tickets to the ship!

I went onboard the RSS Endurance because of SAF50@Vivo and mostly because I won tickets from the Channel News Asia morning show quiz. HOHOHOHOH. You guys. You should enter quizzes and try win tickets for stuff if you’re into them.

I know that sounds a bit duh but you’ll never know if you don’t try and see if you might win tickets to the thing you love want.

I wanted these particular set of tickets because WOOH.

Note the little corner on top? It’s got a special bit where we can ride the FCU aka Fast Craft Unit!

I like speedy things, you see.

Mostly, to be on them.*

RSS Endurance

Since I had tickets we went in quickly past the other line since there was a queue for general public too. Anyway, it’s so exciting to be on a ship like this.

We clicked on Lazada

Hello friends! I got an opportunity from Lazada to try out their store!

Huzzah.

I’ve seen Lazada around… on the internets. It’s there when I scroll down on my Facebook page anyway in ads, so it’s pretty well known.

If you’re a hikikomori, a busy person who has no time to go shopping in an actual mall or are so bored but the urge to shop at midnight when most shopping malls are closed and don’t want to leave your bed, this site is for you.

Considering, I know most of my readers are either hikkis or people who are just all “Ain’t nobody got time for that”, I think this place will be ok for you guys.

I checked it out and went “Huh” because it really has a lot of things? I was pretty impressed with that. Their search engine is pretty good too.

Mind you, unlike beauty bloggers and whatnot, I’m into adventure and it’s really not often when I can just search for the items and BAM, it does show up on the website especially when this is a Singapore online shopping place.

ANYWAY, HERE IS A LIST of my recommended items you can get at Lazada!

By the way, since it’s near the holidays, you can do some online CNY shopping too. Less… rushed than being in packed malls.

Sarah’s Ultimate Adventure Top 10 List

1) Red Monster Power Bang!14.800mAh

Powerbank

You totally need a power bank for your phone especially if you’re going to spend the day outdoors.

Also, if you’re a gamer, you can always get a nintendo cable adapter to charge your 3ds. I’ve a fondness for Red Monster power banks, they’re really good and it’s got the word MONSTER in it so, RARRR POWERRR.

2) 21” Soprano Ukulele ( Black / Shine Finished )

Uke

Guys, of course I would check out if they have a ukulele in their store, due to obvious reasons.

There are expensive higher grade ones but this is a cheap one.

Since I know most of you might want to just get a really basic cheap one for yourselves/ your kids/ friends or might not really want to explore to the real life shops to get one. So hey, they have one!

Good for relaxing, playing music or serenading to your pets too. Or when you’re alone and waiting for your friends at a bus stop, at a staycation etc, you get the idea.

3) GoPro HERO (Local Warranty)

Gopro Hero

Of course, you are out on adventure or having fun. Perhaps some water sports or trekking through a nature reserve?

Or biking, skateboarding and well, the suggestions are endless.

If you want to stick it on a selfie stick and take pictures of yourself shopping, I guess that works too…

ANYWAY, this is a new Gopro Hero! It’s the most basic yet, if you’re a regular person who’s not a professional sportsperson or explorer, this is for you!

It’s got the protection of a gopro, a great format for uploading pictures and videos online AND it is cheaper than the other gopro versions.

4) (EXPORT) Canon IXUS 95 IS Pink + camera bag

Canon!

I’m a Canon girl. I’ve always used their Ixus for when I need to take pictures on adventure.

This is a great size to hide within your palm or just to take around for blogging.

Yes, if you wanna blog and not carry a DSLR, I prefer taking this around since it actually pretty tough too.

5) CamelBak Octane XCT Hydration Pack Black Skydiver

Hydration pack

Is your resolution to go for runs or marathons this year? You might want to invest in a hydration pack.

Look at its sleek design. I got one from Camelbak and it is very useful for those obstacle course marathons where you have to jump into mud, crawl under nets and climb over walls.

Really, get a freaking hydration pack because if you really want to go on marathons or sports events, it is really useful especially with the weather we have in Singapore.

Better hydrated than not.

6) Buff® National Geographic Series : Bless

Buff!

Buffs! You have no idea how useful they are. A lot of my friends have buffs now because they’re stuck to adventuring with me and really.

Sometimes all you need is just a buff.

7) Columbia Maxtrail Convertible Pants Blade

Pants!

The best pants for wandering around. They’re tough and light. Plus, you can zip off the lower part to convert them into shorts!

Need to do a lot of running or clambering through shrubbery? This pair of pants is Lara Croft worthy.

Upside, they’re really really good in our hot weather in Singapore.

8) Targus 15.6” City Fusion Laptop Backpack

Targus!

I ain’t going anywhere without a laptop or a netbook. Whether for work or for play, Targus is my main laptop bag to go.

It’s got space for your tech gear, a water bottle, random stuff.

Stuff in your gear for blogging on the go!

9) Maxpedition Jumbo™ Versipack® (Maroon-Khaki)

Adventure bag!

Heck them backpacks!

You know you’re going on a full day adventure somewhere and don’t want to carry unnecessary stuff. This is best for carrying a waterbottle/umbrella. Your main camera, a power bank, writing materials and even a little more like, your 3ds/PSP/handheld game.

Why do I recommend this one? Because you can easily RUN with this. Sling it around, push it to the back and jump over puddles, clamber over trees and you’ll be sure that this bag won’t rip.

Ok, you can also use this on a leisurely day too but it’s Maxpedition, it’s going to be tough and long lasting.

10)  Cardsharp Pocket Knife

Cardsharp

I must warn you guys not to be an idiot when purchasing this. Considering my readers are super responsible people, I would go yay on that.

I have a cardsharp and it folds into a card shaped thing.

You’ll never know if you need a knife to either cut art materials for cosplay or ingredients at a camp.

I use mine to cut slices of cheese…

It’s a foldable knife! Just don’t bring it on airplanes, it’ll be confiscated.

There you go, that’s my suggested list. It’s optimized for ADVENTURE AND FUNNNN.

Shopping at Lazada

Anyway, here’s a little tutorial on how to shop at Lazada!

A  tl;dr version is that, shopping at Lazada is easy and wow, ok. Their shipping is freaking fast.

The Last

Standard Chartered Marathon Singaore

Sunday was my last run of the year. I took the 10 km Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore route. It was interesting and I passed by R2D2, C3P0 and some Star Wars characters running/walking for charity??

Anyway, I had to run fast because I had to go home by 10am.

Batgirl!

Just so I could join the Gotham cosplay competition at Takashimaya when the registration started at around 12pm.

Yes. I ran in the morning, rushed home and went to my last cosplay competition of the year.

That was ridiculous BUT YEAHHH I DID IT.

And that’s why this post is short because, I freaking ran 10 km and then went to a cosplay competition.

Longer posts for next episode indeed!

Hotel Jen! Or in want of a bathtub

Hotel Jen!

Yesss. Hotel Jen at Orchard Gateway. I booked a staycation in their deluxe room because it was the ‘minimum’ room that had a freaking bathtub.

Yes.

All I wanted was just a freaking bathtub since my previous staycation at another location did not have one even if they were in freaking Sentosa.

A walk around the Sports Hub

The Kallang Wave!
I was invited to a Sports Hub tour last weekend and it was pretty informative and yesss much potential fun.

By the way, the easiest way is to drop off at Stadium MRT. Once out of there, you will have the mall, Kallang Wave to your right. And the visitor’s centre for the Sports Hub is in the building to the left, after the sports library.

I assure you, it just hit me why the mall is called Kallang Wave. AUGGH.

Anyway, Calvin (or do I spell it as Kelvin?) and Jennifer were the guides for our group. Here’s Calvin starting off the tour. They’re both really nice by the way.

Lion Dash 2014! Aka the end of Tampines Bike Park

Up and downhill

8 June 2014. That’s the last day of operations for Tampines Bike Park.

That’s also the date of my first Lion Dash. After Lion Dash, the place is closed for it’s going to be redeveloped into houses.

Kinda sad though because there are so many freaking buildings in Tampines that it’s getting very claustrophobic there and wow, this bike park is actually very nice?

There was also an area where the extreme sports competition for mountain biking was held before and I could see people biking up and down the slopes, enjoying them before it would be closed forever.

I don’t know where else in Singapore you’d have an outdoor arena like that.
