Singapore’s Not Boring… You Are… OK LOR, NOW WHAT?

Extended Edition

GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYS. I just had tea. Most of you who are my regular readers and people who talk to me know how it is with me + tea. The normal teh tarik!

ANYWAY. So I read the whole “Singapore’s Not Boring, You Are” thingy rebuttal to that other “Singapore’s Boring” thing which was written over 3 years ago. I think the person who wrote that would be more amazed that people are starting to comment NOW than back then.

Cause I always go “WOAAAH DUDE, WHO ARE YOU? HOW DID YOU SEARCH MY THINGS? I WROTE THIS X YEARS AGO and have an UPDATED VERSION OF THIS NOW”.

I lie.

You guys don’t even comment that often for my other posts except for my ukulele guides, ABLOO BLOO BLOO.

It’s one big corner

To Lepak!

Did you know lepak is in the Oxford dictionaries? Well, with Labour Day coming (it’s 1st May), maybe you’d want to lepak with everyone else at Hong Lim Park!

From the Stand Up for SG page:

This Labour Day, come and Lepak one corner, at the Speaker’s Corner! : )
We want to remember why we work so hard and find the opposite of worry.
How?
Join us, bring something to share and see what happens next!

Stand Up On May Day – Make Hong Lim Happy! from Big Red Button on Vimeo.

Bouncy castle! Yay! You know what would make this more awesome? A Milo truck. But we can’t have everything. At least, I don’t think there would be one. Still, a picnic!

I’ll bring my own Milo or tea and ukulele. And probably try out some songs and record some videos there or something. It will be fun.

And that’s it for today’s post. Yes, I had adventures during the weekend but I figure, hey you can have your own too by knowing this!

Burnt Out

Previously… on Seriously Sarah with the Awaken the Dragon mini workshop

The ceramic pieces!

Our pieces are done! And displayed! Wooooh. No, we didn’t do all that. It’s all contributed by everyone who attended the workshops or mini shows or did private group sessions.

Anyway, this will be at the National Museum of Singapore until the 24th March 2013, it’s near the back of the museum, past the shop and it’s free to have a looksee!

Mangafest 2013!

Lots of people in the morn!

Mangafest 2013‘s events for the weekend was held at The Arts House and Kinokuniya at Ngee Ann City. The Arts House’s exhibit was from 10am to 8pm. I lurked outside, eating my Old Chang Kee porridge as I waited for my friends to arrive.

And good grief… It was Saturday morning and I saw lots of people going up to the second floor where the exhibition was held at the Gallery.

Sarah Does… COMIC FIESTA 2012!

This time the Adventure Crew wasn’t in Singapore. We had a trip to Kuala Lumpur for Comic Fiesta last weekend on 22 and 23 Dec! Technically we set off on 21st with Aeroline. It’s really fancy since they do have ‘in flight’ food (their tagline is: The Convenient Way to Fly).

It’s about a 5 hour bus ride and it was really that good. They even had in flight entertainment and ooh, I got hot chocolate too besides our meal.

Dragon, wake up!

We’re helping to wake the Dragon up in 2013. You can know more about it on their wordpress here or their Facebook. Once there were at least 20 Dragon Kilns in Singapore, now there are two. And this one will be gone so we’re going to wake the Dragon up before it leaves us forever…

At the moment there are still workshops for YOU (no experience needed) to contribute to this project since they want at least 3000 pieces to fill the dragon and to fire it up. You can even have a private session, as long as you contact them with a small group of friends or people interested to do it with you.

AND THUS, The Adventure Crew managed to get into the slot at the National Museum of Singapore on Saturday afternoon. It’s $15 per person or $25 for adult with child, just check which workshop you want to attend since it might have different prices for different locations if they have drinks provided etc etc.
