Logitech M585 mouse review!

This time I got to test out the Logitech M585 mouse! Yes, this is a logitech mouse review. I was ordering it through Lazada at night and well… I was delivered the next day?! I was very surprised at the shipping speed. In any case, this is under the exclusive Logitech online store on their site. I got other stuff too like wireless keyboards but that’ll be another post.

So how’s the mouse?

Well, firstly I had to open it and I am so glad it’s easy to take out without scissors.

No more accidentally stabbing self with knife/scissors when there’s a perforation to break the plastic out at the back.

And it comes like this! The battery is supposed to last for 24 months so we’ll see…

The little bit is your unifying receiver dongle thing if your computer doesn’t have bluetooth.

But firstly before you use it, you need to install the driver which is on the instructions. It’ll lead you to Logitech Options.

Ok, here’s the thing, I tested it with a few computers. If you have the latest Windows OS or the latest Apple ones, you’re safe. This mouse will work for you.

I tried it on an older system and it couldn’t recognize it but this shouldn’t matter if you’ve updated your OS.

If you’re using a pretty old computer, a wireless mouse might not work for you and a new mouse is probably going to be one of the last things you need to update.

So how do I find it? It’s a pretty decent mouse with rather precise scrolling if you like to read or have to read work documents. It has two side buttons which you can programme in Logitech Options and oh… One of the neatest features is this…

You can switch the mouse on different computers. That’s why it’s an “Option”, you can programme the “1” to be on one computer and then “2” on another. It works best if one of the computers uses bluetooth so that your other computer can use the unifying dongle if it doesn’t have bluetooth on it.

With that, I TESTED OUT SOMETHING ELSE.

Did you know the Logitech M585 let’s you “flow” from one computer to another? It can copy paste text too so if you’re using this in an office and you’re on two computers, you don’t have to email it to yourself or use a thumb drive. Just copy your text and scroll past your computer’s monitor to get into the the computer and paste.

And yes. IT DOES WORK for Apple/PC. Whatever you prefer to call it Mac or Apple, Windows or PC, it just works ok? You can look see my video.

So what do you think? I’m definitely stuffing this mouse into my laptop bag for my “grab and go” work set.

If you want to get this mouse for the month of October 2017, it’s 15% off their usual price and I also went to a specific bookstore that’s pretty popular here and it’s definitely cheaper to get it on Lazada.

Buy the Logitech M585 here (you’ll be clicking on my affliate link and that helps me out too when you buy!) or check out other exclusive Logitech items that Lazada has to offer here.

I put on Rubbers on my screen

Hey, I reviewed Rubbers (2014) by Yew Kwang Han, a local movie and you can read it here on Catchplay (I think it’s only geolocked for Singaporeans or maybe SEA?): https://www.catchplay.com/sg/ed-says-article-1363-icsth6pc

Here’s some iconic screenshots I like:

It’s one of the more safe for work ones. THE REST AREN’T.

So go read my review.

Or just watch it on Catchplay.

Lifesense Band 2

Hey everyone! I got a lifesense band 2 to try out. It’s a step tracker with a heartbeat monitor. With all these healthy life style things that the government is promoting especially after the national day rally, items like these help you track and kind of give you a goal every day to keep to get fit.

I’ve my own mifit, fitbit alta and a free one I got during Health Promo board’s thing. Unfortunately that free one couldn’t sync to my phone and the mifit couldn’t sync to my phone after some of their updates (my friends who got it also had that issue after some software updates) that I gave up on it.

So hey, sometimes cheap or free trackers really depends on your luck or pretty much… your phone OS.

Oooh, it’s a pretty simple quick start guide, there’s a QR code inside for you to download the lifesense app (available both on iOS and Android) and another page with a QR code for you to scan your lifesense band 2’s serial number.

Urban Armor Gear!

The box!

Ok, I’m just gonna say you can get your Urban Armor Gear at Lazada on my link here because at least they’ll deliver to you at Lazada.

You can still get the cases in store though cause I’ve seen them around (just make sure they’re genuine?).

I’m stating this now cause it’s gonna be ‘holiday’ season soon and it’s best to get your phones protected before you go on trips and try take pics with your phone etc.

The SAD thing is that I’m using an OPPO so I can’t use UAG cases.

Heck, for my specific phone model, I can’t even get nifty cases so the second best way is… GET MY FRIENDS (they use more mainstream phones) to use the cases cause when they’re on adventure with me, well, what better way for them to take pics of me instead?

NYAHAHA.

Anyway, tl;dr version. If you can afford your phone, you can afford this case to protect it. Yes, it has more colours than pink and also, it has protectors for ipads, Samsung, macbook airs and even Surface Pros.

Anywho, I passed this particular case to my friend since she accompanies me to events and stuff too.

Fancy Cinema Thingums

Fancy tickets

Before the weekend hit, I had a little time to hit to the theatres after doing my work and quickly took the earliest time for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2.

I’m not going to spoil the movie but it really IS a good adaptation of the book.

What I go woah is that I just bought the ticket and didn’t know it was fancy. I thought it was just because it’s the premiering-early dates or something?

ANYWAY, I went to Shaw and it came in this reflective silver ticket. Plus a little $5 voucher thing to offset drinks or food.

The Noq store!

The Noq store!

Hey ho! Have you checked out the Noq store? It’s a newish online store for books here in Singapore. It’s the e-commerce side of Times Publishing! So besides the other bookstores that I’ve talked about before years ago, this is a new one to hit the internets that seems promising.

For one thing, it’s not just books! They have stationery and other accessories too like Moleskine. Alright then.

I was given a voucher by Noq to try out their store so this post will be updated when my purchases arrives in 7-14 days.

There’s 7% GST so make sure you account for that when you do purchase your books.

Since it’s quite new, the search function seems needing a bit of an update.

It can be a bit ‘slow’ while the pages load and some things might be weirdly categorized (why IS John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars in the stationery section?).

And their ‘price’ sort order is a bit iffy since they’re also showing things that are out of stock and thus cost $0.00. Besides all that though, if you know the title of the book you’re searching for, it seems to be able to search it ok! Try it on the computer, not the phone since some options are kind of hard to press if so.

The popup for the search by author/isbn/title needs a good hovering of the mouse before you can click it.

Also, I was searching for a book that just came out on 6 May and YESSS IT IS IN THE STORE (it’s 11 May on the time I clicked purchase). That’s wonderful so that means their stock is pretty up to date even if their current web search isn’t.

You know what I like about the checkout part? They DO have an option where you can checkout as guest. Means I don’t have to signup if I want to. Just buy and go.

Well, not go because I’m at home when I’m doing this so yeaaah. So that is nice. They don’t have a notification of how much you have purchased as a highlight on top where checkout is though but that’s just the designer in me going meh. You can find out your ‘total’ when just clicking it anyway.

At the time of this post they’re having free deliveries for orders of $25 and above. PLUS YOU get 15% discount if you type in SARAH until 30 May 2014 in the Noqstore. So cool right?

Ok, we’ll wait until my books arrive and I’ll update THIS post with the info of how the books are delivered then.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2!

Spider-Man 2!

I got to watch The Amazing Spider-Man 2 after being invited by Sony Pictures Singapore. THANKS SONY PICTURES!

This is going to be a SHORT review because no spoilers.

Firstly, if possible just go with the 3d option. This time the 3d isn’t a gimmick thing, it actually really works when you’re with him (Spider-Man). Just go. If you’re watching this movie, you might as well go for the 3d option because it is SO well done.

Secondly, ok this story has a VERY awesome soundtrack.

Some songs might be hipstery or well, from the trailer I think you can tell that there is a lot of dubstep going on here. Otherwise, there might be some songs or rather theme songs that make you go “Whaaaaaaaaat”?

Stan Lee of course makes an appearance and you can’t miss him this time because it’s so in your face that it is funny.

How do I describe Spidey 2. Ahhh…

Spidey 2, is GOOD.

There are some ACTION scenes that feels like it is just shoved into some points so that it won’t be called Spider-Man 2 aka Romance Adventures of a Webslinger but otherwise, just “Ahhhh” it is good. The actors and actresses are ALL very good.

From the trailers though, you can tell the thug is really “THUG” like he came out of the comics or cartoons being so over the top and so stereotypically Russian with bad accent.

There’s also a super stereotypical German scientist that it made us think of this. Ja? JA!

Also, I prefer this Spidey than the previous one because he is actually funny and witty even if there are tragic sides to him.

All the other geek sites are so going to tell you how it matches up with the comics and I won’t say it because. Really. It’s. Super. Spoilery. Also, lots of references to OTHER popculture things. Like. Harry Potter.

You might also notice a bunch of Sony products used in the movie for obvious reasons. In one scene, you would wonder if the laptop IS THAT DURABLE and if it is, wow ok. I would like it. Not to mention the internet connection for it.

In summary, just watch it. Those who read the comics/watched the cartoons will have quite a bunch of reactions for this movie. Those who don’t have a background will still go “WOW”.

When the movie finished, we went out of the cinema and talked a HECK LOAD about it and yes, it goes to show that this Spider-Man 2 is really going to go up the charts when it’s released in Singapore on May 1st!

Go book your tickets with your friends because yes. Yes, go with them to watch this for reasons.

Ps. If you stick around in the credits, you might notice a Wade Wilson. Yes, he is a real person but for those comic/cartoon fans, you might know the irony of this.

Scootering…

Oxelo scooter is cat sized?

I didn’t get my scooter from Scoot and bought it last week at the stated date. A proper review of it is will be in March onwards when I have traveled around with my Oxelo Town 7 Easyfold scooter.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuut.

So we’ll see how.

Kind of short post but I went on the Marina run on Saturday! And ok, it was the 5km fun run and I managed to do it so YAY.

A Lot Less Funny

Ok the papers on the 3rd.

TIME TO CHANNEL MY INNER SUMIKO TAN. If you don’t read the Straits Times, I don’t blame you. I’m sure you have other things to do like instagram your food or tweet something. Me too, my friends. Me too.

The only time I read the Straits Times is when I go straight to the Life! Section and scan the pages to see if I’m in it.

OHO I LIE.

Ok, maybe not.

But I do check the comics section first and LO AND BEHOLD, the comics section is now… JUST TWO STRIPS? WHAT THE BANANAYS IS THAT? No. No. Did I drop a page and did my cat eat it? Of course not, that’s silly. My cat wouldn’t eat the paper. It is not that attractive to consume. Was it my imagination that this comic section was now less of a section and more of random COPY PASTA ON A PAGE?

GASSSSSP.

I noticed this phenomenon when they started last Sunday or so when the comics strips were reduced to one page instead of three. Ok. Ok. That’s alright… I think? Maybe the papers had something more important to write about in the Life! section. At least the local strip by Miel was there.

The thing is, I wasn’t the only one who noticed this new thing ST was trying out.
