It’s Lazada’s 6th Birthday!

It’s Lazada’s 6th Birthday and they have a present for you!

Their birthday festival sale starts on 24 April until 26 April 2018.

Ok, what’s the details? Since it’s their birthday, there’s going to be discounts of up to 90% off, more than 600 flash deals and… up to $120 vouchers?!

Making cheese at Citizen Farm!

On an early Saturday morning I ventured all the way to 60 Jalan Penjara to visit the Citizen Farm. (Facebook is at Citizen Farm in case you want updates from them!)

There’s no penjara (jail) that I know of, just a nice edible garden farm of sorts.

My main reason was to attend the cheese making workshop by Annisa of Milky Whey Cheese who came all the way from Kuala Lumpur! (You can check out her instagram too at @milkywheycheese.)

Also that’s a chicken who was eating the mint on the other side before one of the Citizen Farm people shooed it away since his food was already in a tray.

Ohhhh my goodness. I learned how to make mozzarella cheese. The “instant” kind (aka took at least an hour) while Annisa brought some curds she had made in KL where it would take maybe 6-12 hours I think?? Anyway, since we only had 3 hours of the workshop, ours was a ‘fast mozzarella’ type.

Free Vlogging workshop!

Helloooo everyone!

Just for this 4 April, 3pm-5pm at level 5 of Scape, in The Arena, we’ll be holding a vlog workshop for FREE.

Why is it free? Well.

Really.

Scape lets us rent the place for half a day a minimum and we are holding some other event in the evening leaving the afternoon unused.

So instead why not teach people who might be interested to know how to vlog at home or at events they’re at? That’s why you’re getting a free vlogging workshop!

Yeah, I’ll be there too so yeah, if you’re interested just sign up.

If you don’t have a camera, a phone works too. Basically I will teach what’s the cheapest way to do things and scale up if you’re interested to make things even more wow.

Kayak 1 Star – Getto!

Ok.

I saw this post by Ministry of Adventure last month during those flash floods. The copy was loltastic, it was this:

Now here’s the chance for you! We don’t know when will the next chance come, but we will be prepared when the next flash flood is here!

When?
The next heavy downpour

How to join?
Throw away everything you are doing and race to the flooding area the next time it rains. People stuck in their car or bus stop are welcome to join in the fun. Kayaks not included.

Where?
East side of Singapore

What if I don’t have a kayak?
Box, container, bathtub or anything that fits you will do too. Swimmers are also welcome.

Is it suitable for kids?
Kids are advised to stay in school or home. The frustration of the working crowds stuck by the flood can be dangerous.

What should I bring?
A change of working clothes so you may also kayak to work

How much is it?
It is FREE! You may even earn some bucks by kayaking people to their workplace!

Loltastic but I then went “Oh?? Ministry of… ADVENTURE?” and if you have stuck around my blog long enough, you’d know I like adventure. AND OHHHHH. OHHHHHH THIS IS A GROUP that actually teaches you skills that I like in my list of Lara Croft checklist. (It’s somewhere, I forgot where but it’s there anyway.)

With that, this VALENTINE’S DAY, I am doing a special. Because I’m making chocolates* for self, I might as well use up all the ingredients and proper box for you**.

SO THIS IS GOING TO BE THE ANIME/MANGA CHOCOLATE EXPERIENCE.

  • For at least $150 (donation to Love Kuching Project), I will make small box of chocolates, go up to your address*** on V-day evening (14 Feb) or you let me know your timing for Wednesday, I could even try make it on lunch/afternoon depending on my schedule and hand it to you and run away. (Tier 1)
  • $250, I will do the same but slam the chocs against you for those who like tsunderes and say “I did it for the cats, not you ok! Bakaaa!” and then run away. (Tier 2)
  • For at least $500. All of the above but I demand you eat the chocolate on the spot and ask “So… so how is it? They are my rejected ones so don’t expect anything great!!!” But in reality they are the best pieces I’d make for the batch. And then run away. (Tier 3)
  • For $1000, all of the above and a secret “confession” letter hidden in box with a picture of one of the LKP cats or choice of Dawn the cat pushing my face away pic as a thank you note keepsake. And then run away. (Tier 4)
  • BONUS: I might call you senpai
  • DOUBLE BONUS: It might involve a ridiculous costume so don’t expect anything romantic.
  • Notes: YOU CAN SABOH YOUR FRIENDS OK. All in the name of CATS. You don’t like humans, nevermind but you like cats can help them like this.
  • Don’t have enough as an individual? Pile up that money with friends to get at least the first tier.

ALTERNATE ROUTE

  • If you buy kitty litter or food that didn’t hit the $150 range, you won’t get chocolates but just a digital picture of me saying thank you with Dawn the cat.

The deadline for this ‘preorder’ is 12 February so I can prepare the ingredients and box ok?

Noods & Meats : Smokehouse by Firdauz Nasir is at BLK 414, Yishun Ring Road, #01-1871, Singapore 760414.

It’s just a feeder bus away from Yishun interchange. If you’re looking for the shop, it’s not some fancy restaurant but is in a neighbourhood coffeeshop.

It’s not ‘certified Halal’ but it’s Muslim owned. When I went, it was late afternoon in their first week or so of opening.

SAD FOR ME because since I went late afternoon, most of their main meats were not available except for the platter sharing ones and those are huge

Perspectives with Kelly Marie Tran & Norman Tan

On 26 November 2017, Apple at Orchard Road (Apple Orchard, really…) hosted a special event called Perspectives with Kelly Marie Tran & Norman Tan!

As readers of my blog would possibly know who Kelly is since a bunch of you guys are nerds like me, you would know her as Rose Tico from Star Wars in the upcoming The Last Jedi. Norman Tan is the moderator and he’s the Editor-in-Chief of Buro 24/7. He’s a really good moderator and the whole event was pretty smooth.

It started a with a screening of the trailer (some people screamed No if you listened properly because I know they were trying to avoid seeing anything until the movie appeared) and a secret behind the scenes segment starring Kelly Marie Tran. Maybe it’ll be put in the main BTS of The Last Jedi but from what we saw, it was kind of touching also? To at least know how she ended up in the role.

Trailer over, some of Singapore’s 501st marched in to stand to the side to welcome her.
