Being Fictional

Golden Shoe Complex

Last Saturday’s Nanowrimo write-in was at Golden Shoe complex. BECAUSE IT WAS DEEPAVALI AND THE SHOPS WERE CLOSED.

AUUUGH.

But it was one of the most effective write-ins ever because:

a) No food or distractions

b) You had limited battery

c) No internet (unless you plugged in your own)

The coming Saturday’s write-in should be at the usual place though so I don’t know if productivity will be as much as when we had nothing, heh heh.

Alright, day 2 on 25th Oct of the Singapore Writers Festival. 11 am at the Earshot Cafe and there was quite a number of people. Suddenly it occurred to me… WHERE DO THESE PEOPLE COME FROM? I didn’t realize we had much love for books here which is pretty much a YAY! Oh yes, Raven Silvers and I came to support Wena for The Proper Care of Foxes, plus Raven wanted her poster of SWF signed and I wanted to get what books I wanted before next week. (I don’t wanna lug more books for next Saturday when I’ve got my own thing on.)

Day 1 of Singapore Writers Festival… 24th October and Wena Poon sang karaoke in the morning. HAHA, okay not. It was a reading of the Biophilia Omnibus at 11am. Before hitting up the Arts House, I went to Spotlight at Plaza Singapura because they had a grand reopening after their renovation.

Wasn’t aunty enough to arrive there early to be the first 500 people to get the free goodie bags. Nonetheless, I checked out the Halloween section and went ooh since there was something I wanted to buy there… And left because I didn’t want to be late for the reading at the Arts House.

Sounds like some Matrix thingy but right, anyway, invites yay! It was lovely of them to invite us and all. FYI, the opening was on the 23rd, the Friday evening before everything started on Saturday. Naturally, it was at the Arts House.

THE VENUE HAS CHANGED!!!

I just wanted to say that. It is too amusing not to. Anywho, yesss. The event got an upgrade since apparently there was a lot of response for it. Bad, bad me. I didn’t rsvp so I signed in right then. They’re popular ladies, you see. Hence the bigger location.
